22 August 2026, New Delhi: Following a vibrant opening day, Rajnigandha Presents Jagran Film Festival continued its 14th edition in Delhi with a dynamic second day of cinema, conversations, tributes and inclusive programming at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre. As India’s longest-running traveling film festival, Rajnigandha Presents Jagran Film Festival continued to bring meaningful cinema and diverse voices to audiences, celebrating the craft, legacy and evolving landscape of Indian storytelling.

The day opened with a special JFF Junior screening of Taare Zameen Par, which was followed by an interaction with specially-abled children, giving them a space to share their thoughts, feelings and takeaways from the film. The session reinforced the festival’s commitment to making cinema more inclusive and creating opportunities for young audiences to engage with stories in meaningful ways.

The festival also celebrated the enduring legacies of some of Indian cinema’s most beloved performers, paying tribute to Asha Bhosle, Dharmendra, Satish Shah and Asrani through special segments and cinematic retrospectives. A special homage to Satish Shah featured the screening of Saathiya, offering audiences an opportunity to revisit the actor’s memorable contribution to Indian cinema.

The day also featured a Heritage Conversation with Moushumi Chatterjee ahead of the screening of her retrospective film Anuraag, followed by an Asha Bhosle Tribute by Amruta Kolatkar. Speaking about her admiration for the legendary singer, Amruta said, “I draw a lot of inspiration, hope, and ‘Asha’—as her name means—from her. In a podcast I was watching recently, she mentioned that no matter what was happening in her personal life, she never let it affect her singing. In fact, she had a rare power to turn adversity into an advantage. No matter what is going on in your mind, you transform it into a piece of art when you sing. That feels very inspirational to me. Many things apart from singing inspire me about her—as a woman, a lady and a singer.”

Adding an international perspective to the day’s programming, “From Desi Streets to Oscar – Casting India for the World” featured renowned casting director Tess Joseph, who offered insights into India’s growing presence on the global cinematic stage and the evolving dynamics of casting Indian talent for international productions.

The day’s programme also featured the Shorts Showcase, including The Tale of Katha, bringing audiences closer to emerging voices and diverse forms of storytelling. With screenings, conversations, tributes and inclusive initiatives coming together under one roof, Day 2 reflected the festival’s larger vision of celebrating cinema in all its forms while creating spaces for audiences across generations to connect with stories and the people behind them.

As the Delhi chapter continues, Rajnigandha Presents Jagran Film Festival remains true to its legacy as India’s longest-running travelling film festival, taking cinema, conversations and cultural experiences to audiences across 14 cities and creating a shared platform for storytellers, industry voices and film lovers.
