New Delhi | 23 September 2026. India’s manufacturing story is increasingly being defined by companies that are not only producing at scale but also competing confidently in global markets. Among the latest to earn national recognition is Winwin Speciality Insulators Limited (WSIL), which was honoured with the Cross-Border Start-Up of the Year award at the Entrepreneur Startup Awards 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The award, evaluated by independent tabulators Ernst & Young (EY), recognises Indian startups that have successfully expanded beyond domestic markets to establish a meaningful international presence. For WSIL, the recognition reflects a journey that has transformed a regional manufacturing facility into a globally competitive enterprise supplying critical infrastructure components to some of the world’s most demanding power transmission markets.

Headquartered in Andhra Pradesh and operating from its advanced manufacturing facility at the Andhra Pradesh Special Economic Zone in Atchutapuram, the company has emerged as an important player in the global electro-ceramics industry. Its growth has been driven by a combination of technological capability, strategic market positioning and long-term investments in manufacturing excellence.

At the heart of this transformation is the leadership of co-founders Aishwarya Yalamarty and Vaishnavi Sahithy, working alongside Director and CEO Aaditya Yalamarty. Together, the leadership team has overseen the company’s transition from a largely domestic operation into an export-oriented manufacturer serving high-voltage transmission infrastructure across international markets.

The timing proved significant.

As utilities across North America and other Western economies began diversifying their supply chains beyond traditional East Asian manufacturing hubs, WSIL identified an opportunity to position itself as a reliable, high-quality alternative. Within a year of entering the United States market, the company had established itself in the highly specialised high-voltage transmission segment, supplying porcelain insulators for applications reaching up to 765 kV while expanding relationships across global utility and infrastructure projects.

Today, the company’s engineering capabilities extend far beyond conventional transmission requirements.

WSIL is among a select group of manufacturers worldwide with the expertise to engineer extra-high-voltage porcelain insulators for transmission systems operating up to the emerging 1200 kV class. Its products are designed to meet the requirements of utilities across more than 55 countries, supporting the growing demand created by renewable energy integration, grid modernisation and large-scale data centre expansion.

Yet the company’s ambitions extend beyond engineering innovation.

One of the more defining aspects of WSIL’s evolution has been its focus on creating greater opportunities within an industry that has traditionally seen limited female participation. Through its “Equal Opportunity through Skill” initiative, the company has steadily increased women’s representation across its manufacturing operations—from 7 percent to 16 percent—with plans to reach 20 percent during the current financial year and 50 percent over the coming years.

The initiative reflects a broader philosophy that manufacturing competitiveness is built not only through automation and technology, but also through investment in people and workforce development.

On the sidelines of the national recognition at Bharat Mandapam, Director and CEO Aaditya Yalamarty described the award as an affirmation of the company’s long-term vision.

“This recognition reinforces our belief that Indian manufacturing can compete on the global stage through precision engineering, innovation and an unwavering commitment to quality. As global industries continue to evolve, we see immense opportunity for Indian enterprises to contribute to the next generation of energy infrastructure while creating meaningful economic and social impact at home.”

As countries continue investing in resilient power networks and clean-energy infrastructure, companies like WSIL represent a new generation of Indian manufacturers—businesses that are no longer competing solely on cost, but on capability, innovation and reliability.

The Entrepreneur Startup Award recognises more than a company’s commercial success. It highlights the growing role Indian manufacturing enterprises are beginning to play in shaping global supply chains and demonstrates how homegrown engineering can increasingly set benchmarks on the international stage.
